The Daubert decision and its progeny, Kumho Tire and Joiner, are considered to be the most important cases to involve scientific evidence in over seventy years. Successful or unsuccessful "Daubert Challenges" can, and often will,
| influence the entire outcome of a case and are now viewed as a bona fide component of trial strategy. To date, over 2,000 federal and 1,000 state 'Daubert' cases have been reported since the original Daubert decision. Currently, five to seven new cases are reported every week, and many authorities believe that this rate will continue to increase. It is therefore incumbent on trial attorneys and forensic professionals to have not only a historical perspective on all of the decisions to date, but regular updates on the latest decisions. To meet this need, MDEX Online is developing The Daubert TrackerThe Daubert Tracker will be available for sale on September 1, 2001. In the meantime, if you would like to learn more about this product, e-mail us at info@mdexonline.com or call us at 866-528-3300 ext. 143. |
